Albana Koçiu, Minister of Health and Social Protection, visited Tirana’s Home for the Elderly on World Elderly Day.

Through mobile dental units, the University Dental Clinic offered free therapeutic and surgical care to the elderly.

Minister Koçiu indicated that older people in need would receive free prosthetic treatments.
“In order to offer you dental check-ups to anyone who needs an intervention or service from the University Dental Clinic, I have joined forces with their services. I know that some of you find it difficult to access these services, which is why we are here and, of course, to offer free dentures to those who need them. All the staff will take the necessary measurements and bring the dentures here within a month,” said Minister Koçiu.

Koçiu, the Minister of Health, stressed that dental services for the elderly will be available in nursing homes and daycare centers around the country.

All children aged 0-18 and those in need receive free therapeutic and surgical treatments at the University Dental Clinic. 8,925 patients received services from January to September, which is around 3,500 more than the same period last year.
